Midcentury Barcelona Bench after Mies van der Rohe with New Cushion

Mid Century Classic. Museum quality proportions and detailing. Mirror polished stainless steel with black saddle supports straps underneath.  New cushion in black and white houndstooth textile. Homage to The Barcelona Stool conceived of as resting places for the King and Queen of Spain in the 1929 German Pavilion at the International Exhibition in Barcelona. Determined to create a chair worthy of royalty, it’s believed that Ludwig Mies van der Rohe based the design’s signature crisscross frame on the campaign chairs of Ancient Rome.
